Penn State T-Shirt Shocker

by Nathan Harden - Fix Editor on August 10, 2012

Apparently, some people in State College, PA believe that Penn State, which for years harbored and enabled a convicted child rapist, is “innocent.” They don’t like the fact that the NCAA imposed a 4-year sanction on the university’s football program. And they’re selling t-shirts that say so.

The Student Bookstore, an independent Penn State store just off campus, is selling t-shirts dubbed the “NCAA Overstepping” shirt.

What has caught people’s attention is that the front of the shirt reads: “NCAA National Communist Athletic Association,” with the “C” designed to look like the Communist symbol.

The back of the shirt adds to that with “Overstepping Their Bounds And Punishing The Innocent.”

Are you kidding me? What the…

If you can’t recognize the justice in penalizing a university that systematically covered up child sex abuse, then I have nothing to say to you.

I’m beginning to hate Penn State.

“Systematically covered up child sex abuse”? How was anything about this “systematic”? Five people had to do with the cover up, not an entire fucking university. So no, the communism analogy is not accurate, but yes, the NCAA did overstep its bounds by punishing so severely people who had nothing to do with this. Blaming the culture of Penn State for what happened to those poor children is like blaming Islamic beliefs as a whole for extremism and terrorism
