Contradicted by video evidence
Here’s more evidence that Title IX has become “a vehicle for post-adolescents nursing grudges against ex-boyfriends or teachers.”
A student at Pace University was so determined to keep her ex out of her acting program that she threatened to accuse him of rape, falsely accused him of serially violating a no-contact order and then had him arrested in front of their classmates, according to a new federal lawsuit.
Ari Grossman is suing Pace for doing nothing as his ex continually harassed him and called him a rapist in their “tight-knit acting program,” the New York Daily News reports.
They had dated when they were 15, but the ex’s parents called Grossman when she learned they would both end up at Pace last fall, making the rape accusation threat. After a local prosecutor refused to take the ex’s criminal case, the parties settled and promised not to talk about the case.
But once they arrived on campus the ex kept escalating her threats, eventually culminating in her getting Grossman arrested on the false accusation that he “followed her into the cafeteria” against Pace’s no-contact order.
The only thing that saved Grossman from criminal charges was video showing that he didn’t follow her, according to the suit.
