Photos: GW students celebrate, Geraldo gets chased

Last night, hundreds of GW and Georgetown students rushed to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue after hearing of the death of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden. Here are some pictures of the boisterous crowd (and the elusive Geraldo Rivera who was humorously chased around by hundreds of college students).

Hundreds of students chased Fox News anchor Geraldo Rivera around Lafayette Square, hoping to get a feel of the famous moustache. Rivera was disgruntled to hear from White House security that he was not going to be let in past the gates where press usually enters.

Rivera said on air the gathering was “like Mardi Gras and New Year’s.” No Geraldo. This was not like Mardi Gras or New Year’s. This was a patriotic display by hundreds of people who waited ten years for this bastard to die. It was an unforgettable night for every GW student who made it down to the White House. It was an expression of joy, pride, and relief for every American. And it was a final confirmation to us that this war on terror, which began almost ten years ago, was justified.
