Harvard Considered Elizabeth Warren a Minority Faculty Member

As Fix Editor Nathan Harden pointed out, Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren is very, very slightly a Cherokee. But this has not stopped Harvard from touting Warren as a minority faculty member. Sen. Scott Brown’s campaign manager responds:

“That Warren allowed Harvard to hold her up as an example of their commitment to diversity in the hiring of historically disadvantaged communities is an insult to all Americans who have suffered real discrimination and mistreatment, and Warren should apologize for participating in this hypocritical sham.”

Warren does not plan to apologize, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education:

Ms. Warren’s campaign has said she is proud of her Native American ancestry, has not used her minority status to gain an advantage in seeking jobs, and has no plans to apologize.
