Poll: Military Supports Romney by More Than 2-to-1 Margin

A new poll conducted by the Military Times found that 66% of members of the military plan to vote for Romney, while only 26% will vote for Obama. The remaining 8% either support another candidate or remain undecided.

Military members polled cited the economy as their chief concern in this election year.

In July, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and the Ohio Democratic Party filed a lawsuit in the state of Ohio in an attempt to block a law that gives active members of the military 3 extra days to participate in early voting.

The practice of giving military members extra time to vote–due to their unpredictable schedules–is common. Most states, for instance, allow military voters a few extra days to submit absentee ballots beyond the deadline for the general public.
