The College Fix expands its staff with new assistant editor

Since its launch in 2011, The College Fix has continued to grow: readers, student reporters, editors, articles published, journalism fellows, social media followers and more.

Today we are pleased to announce that we continue to expand our efforts to report important campus news and help inspire and mold the next generation of journalists.

Introducing Daniel Payne, our new assistant editor.

For the past three years, Payne has served as a senior contributor to The Federalist. His articles have focused primarily on cultural liberalism, pro-life culture and politics, media criticism and Second Amendment history and advocacy. His work has appeared in National Review Online, Reason and Front Porch Republic. His writing has also been used as instructional material for college composition courses. His articles have been widely shared, including a tweet by the President of the United States.

He has also appeared on numerous television and radio programs as a commentator.

Since 2013, Daniel has also run a personal blog, Trial of the Century, where he writes several times a week on a wide variety of topics, including politics, chicken farming and pop culture.

Payne is excited to join the team at The College Fix to help train and mentor young writers from across the country — he just wishes The Fix had been around when he was in college!

He joins editor Jennifer Kabbany, associate editor Greg Piper, assistant editor Dave Huber, and staff reporter Nathan Rubbelke.
