Stanford lecturer prowls former student’s home at night clad only in women’s underwear

A lecturer at Stanford University stands accused of stalking a former elementary school student — and doing so while clothed only in a pair of panties.

Mark Veregge, whose expertise is percussion, showed up at the home of the former pupil and his family late at night, “parking in front of their home, walking up to their daughter’s car, checking if it was unlocked and then turning around and driving off.”

And each time, CBS San Francisco reports, Veregge (pronounced “vera-gay”) was clad in only in women’s underwear — occasionally with a bra and high heels added in.

The victims’ surveillance cameras captured the lecturer several times.

From the report:

Gerald Macedo is the suspect’s next door neighbor, and said Veregge is a graduate of Julliard.

The long-time next door neighbor says Veregge is just a normal, friendly neighbor. Macedo said he never had any concern about him as a neighbor. …

Macedo said [the matter is] very hard for him to believe.

But Veregge is now facing a charge of prowling.

The victims — including his former student — say they have no idea why them.

The victims say they first noticed Veregge at their home in 2015 and that they have no idea how many times he visited since then. They say they haven’t caught him since his recent arrest.

He’s expected in court later this month.

Check out the video of the report which includes pieces of the surveillance footage.

According to his website (the original of which Stanford apparently has taken down at some point today) Veregge “[s]tudied with Elden Bailey, Anthony Cirone, Saul Goodman, Barry Jekowsky, [and] Roland Kohloff,” and “[h]as served as Principal Timpanist with the Caracas Philharmonic, as well as the Mexico City Philharmonic.”
