PETITION: Black girl who attacked white guy with dreadlocks should be ‘removed’ from campus

Bonita Tindle is “a racist, physically violent, dangerous bully who should be removed, before she attacks any more innocent students for both their race, and how they look.”

So says a petition launched a week ago that’s closing in on 5,000 signatures, referring to the black student who physically attacked a white peer at San Francisco State University because he wore his hair in dreadlocks.

It was started by “Lu Hart” of London, and it asks the SFSU administration how it would respond if the roles and hairstyles were reversed:

Imagine, if this was a white man, PHYSICALLY GRABBING a young black girl with dyed blonde hair, threatening to hurt her and cut her hair off, saying that she had no right to have a hairstyle of her choice. Does this young man not deserve the same rights? Should he be allowed to be touched by anyone, WITHOUT HIS CONSENT? She blocked him trying to leave the confrontation peacefully, and tried to PULL HIM DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS. This is assault.

The petition notes that Tindle’s behavior “became increasingly erratic” after Cory Goldstein, the target of her bemusement, tried to explain that dreadlocks were not unique to or pioneered by black people.

It’s not the first attempt to pressure the school into taking action against Tindle: A Facebook page demanding Tindle’s expulsion sprang up the evening of March 29, hours after our story went live. (It also appears to use the same screenshot we did.)

The student who recorded the viral video showing Tindle’s altercation with Goldstein, Austin King, told KRON 4 he plans to press charges against Tindle for also attacking him when she saw him recording.
