2 Days, 2 Shootings at Georgia College

Students were told it was safe to come back to class after a shooting occurred on campus at Paine College, a historically black liberal arts college in Augusta, GA.

But the very next day, it happened again, CNN reports.

Monday’s shooting victim suffered “life-threatening injuries.”

On Sunday, a different student was injured after someone fired into a dorm.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a suspect, Xavier Deanthony Cooper, 20, is in police custody under charges related to the shooting. Police are still searching for a second suspect.

The victim of Monday’s violence, 21-year-old JaJuan Baker, was reportedly shot in the head.

Local police have set up additional patrols on the campus in the wake of the surge of violence.
