College Fix assistant editor speaks to Iowa State students about government transparency

Matt Lamb, an assistant editor for The College Fix, recently spoke virtually to Iowa State University students about public records law and how to hold universities accountable.

His speech also discussed other government bodies and explained how activists from all political beliefs could use the law to help them.

The Iowa State College Republicans hosted Lamb on April 15 for his speech.

Lamb shared stories of how he had used public records laws, such as the Freedom of Information Act, at The Fix as well at his past jobs.

Lamb gave advice to the students present on how to push back if a government official denied their request and gave advice on other ways to procure information if it is not publicly available.
