Ferguson protesters make rape and death threats against satirical poet at GMU

Let’s see if the Gamergate critics get worked up over this particular example of doxing a young woman for her views on a contentious issue.

Campus Reform reports that George Mason University student Ashley Ray Goldenberg posted a “satirical limerick” about the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., that drew a harsh response:

There once was a thug named Brown / Who bum-rushed a cop with a frown / Six bullets later / He met his creator / Then his homies burnt down the town

In response to this incendiary post, “Members of the [‘social justice warrior’] community have threatened to rape, burn, torture, and murder the Goldenberg family, Campus Reform says:

In addition they have published the family’s address, their credit card and phone numbers; called for Ashley’s expulsion from GMU, and insisted all other schools deny her admission; threatened arson against the family’s property; and have written personal attacks on Ashley’s appearance, declaring she needs plastic surgery and assuring her she is “never getting laid.”

She’s getting harassed on the phone, her mother was threatened and told her daughters would be raped and beheaded, and someone even called her landlord to say her rent was past due.

Goldenberg’s university took the threats seriously enough that its Title IX coordinator asked to speak with her and provided GMU’s sexual violence policy, the student said.

Throughout the whole ordeal, Goldenberg has kept her Facebook page public and updated visitors on recent developments: Police won’t let her file a report against someone harassing her via text, she claims.
