An Illinois student was enjoying a sunny afternoon outing with her sister. Within seconds this carefree scene turned to one of unimaginable tragedy.
The New York Daily News reports the details of the death of a University of Illinois grad student on Sunday:
Anna Bachman, a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, was taking in the California coastline around 5:19 p.m. Sunday when police say a single misstep cost her her life.
“She was having her picture taken there on Sunset cliffs. She stepped off the cliff and fell to her death,” said San Diego police Detective Gary Hassen.
Hassen described the victim as falling about 40 to 50 feet. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
