Girl Shot By Taliban For Her Education Reforms Recovers

She stood up to deadly tyranny and terror and lived to tell the tale. And she’s only 15.

Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by a Taliban assassin as she took a bus home from school in the country’s North West in early October, but this week left a British hospital with a smile, well on the road to recovery, The Daily Telegraph reported.

She had been flown to the country shorty after being shot.

The Telegraph reports:

Malala has said she wants to return to Pakistan but she will remain a target for as long as terrorism threatens the country, officials told The Daily Telegraph.

Since the attack a campaign for her to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize has gathered momentum.

She first rose to prominence aged just 11 with a blog for the BBC Urdu service in 2009, in which she described life in Swat during the bloody rule of the Taliban.

Her calls for improved education for girls attracted the attention of the Taliban, ultimately leading to the attempt on her life.

The family plans to remain in Britain for at least the next several years, as threats to their lives are still viable, the newspaper reports.
