Coach Joe Paterno was fired in the wake of a harrowing child sex scandal, after concerns arose that he had not done enough to protect the children involved. But he is still cashing some very large checks. A Penn State spokesman said yesterday that Paterno”remains employed by the university as a tenured faculty member.”
Paterno is reportedly the university’s highest paid employee, with an annual salary of approximately $1 million.
