Leonardo DiCaprio In Works To Star As A Heroic, Horny Woodrow Wilson

Move over Lincoln, here comes Wilson.

Leonardo DiCaprio is slated to star as a heroic and horny Woodrow Wilson, a screenplay to be based on a newly released biography of the president.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Warner Bros. is in early negotiations to pick up the rights to Wilson, the just-released biography of the 28th president by A. Scott Berg. Leonardo DiCaprio, who is attached to star as Wilson, will also produce …”

The book “offers up a heroic, larger-than-life Wilson, emphasizing his progressive achievements like the creation of the Federal Reserve and his crusade in support of the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations while downplaying his weak record on civil liberties and civil rights for African Americans,” the Reporter states. “Wilson remains a deeply controversial figure to professional historians and a villain to many on the right (notably Glenn Beck).”

The Hollywood Reporter goes on to opine that the thrust of the movie might center on Wilson’s romancing of Edith Galt and their 1915 White House wedding. It’s not the only news outlet betting on a lusty Wilson on-screen.

The Daily Princetonian, the campus newspaper at Princeton University where Wilson graduated and served as professor and eventually campus president, reports that the biography portrays Wilson as a “passionate lover.”

“This was also a really red-blooded, deeply emotional, extremely passionate man,” Berg, the biography’s author, told The Princetonian. “I really wanted to capture that for the reader.”

“Berg’s book describes Wilson as a romantic and sexual man, at least with his wives, Ellen and then Edith,” the campus newspaper reports. “His biography also discusses the ’emotional affair’ he had with a woman named Mary Peck while vacationing in Bermuda.”
