Oregon players mock FSU QB with ‘no means no’ chant

After their decisive victory last night in the Rose Bowl, several University of Oregon players are in hot water for mocking (losing) Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston.

The players used a popular FSU chant, but “modified” it using the phrase “no means no.”

Winston, winner of the 2013 Heisman Trophy, was accused of rape back in 2012 but was never charged.

CBS News.com reports:

Video taken from the field as Oregon celebrated its 59-20 win in the College Football Playoff semifinal showed at least three players chanting “No means no!” to the tune of a chant used by Florida State fans.

CBSSports.com reports that Winston was one of only a few Florida State players to stay on the field and shake hands with Oregon players after the game while other Seminoles went to the locker room.

Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement to The Associated Press that the behavior was inappropriate.

“This is not what our program stands for, and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally,” Helfrich said.

Fox Sports West’s Bear Heisler uploaded a video of the Oregon players’ chant to Vine:

Winston was also recently cleared by Florida State for violations of the school’s code of conduct.
