Kenneth Tomlinson, a longtime editor of Reader’s Digest and later head of Voice of America, has died.
Tomlinson, who kindly served on the board of mentors for the Student Free Press Association/College Fix, will be remembered as a great journalist, friend to many, and willing mentor to young people.
“When The College Fix was just a fledgling idea, he was eager to help out, getting to know a number of the young writers we recruited, giving them advice and encouragement,” John J. Miller, chairman and executive director of the association, points out in a blog post on National Review Online. “He gained nothing from this, except perhaps the reward of knowing he was doing a good thing.”
