STUDY: Many People Don’t Understand Obamacare

The Des Moines Register reports:

People who are most likely to benefit from the Affordable Care Act are the least likely to understand it, a new University of Iowa survey suggests.

… the new survey found that 43 percent of those who lacked employer coverage hadn’t heard much about the Affordable Care Act, compared to 15 percent of Iowans who had employer coverage. Only 36 percent of those without employer coverage said they knew “a lot” or “something” about the law, compared to 57 percent of their more fortunate peers.

“They understand it the least, they’re going to need the most help, and we don’t have an adequate system in place to help them,” said Peter Damiano, director of the Public Policy Center at the University of Iowa.
