College Fix Fall Intern Takes D.C. By Storm – Are You Next?

The College Fix’s fall 2013 fellow Adam O’Neal started his internship at Real Clear Politics in Washington, D.C., in mid-September, and in less than two weeks he’s already banged out several impressive stories:

Are you a college student interested in a career in mass media? Well, maybe that could be you out there covering exciting political stories for a respected news organization.

The College Fix offers paid internships at Washington, D.C.-based media organizations. The deadline to apply for our Spring 2014 fellowship is coming up – October 1.

Here’s the details … we look forward to hearing from you.

Who is eligible?

The internship is open to all SFPA members, who have also liked this site on Facebook. (Not a member? Join here. It’s free!) Recent college graduates are eligible.

Where will I work?

SFPA will match its intern with an appropriate host organization. Previous fellows have worked at the Daily Caller, The Hill, Reason Magazine, the Washington Examiner, and the Weekly Standard. (To learn more about their experiences, go here.)

How long will it last?

The internship will run for about 14 weeks, beginning sometime in January. The specific start and end dates will be determined with the intern and media organization.

What will it pay?

SFPA will provide a stipend of $5,600.

Are there other benefits?

In addition to supplying the internship, SFPA will offer customized career advice and networking opportunities. This will include the assignment of a mentor, drawn from our pool of professional affiliates.

When is the deadline?

Applications must be received by Tuesday, Oct. 1. (The winner will be notified by mid-October).
