Public university leader says ‘jokes may be adult themed, but I can attest the education is real’

A “Drag queen sex toy bingo” event for students at Stockton University is meant to be “educational,” an administrator reportedly told a concerned parent this week.

In an email to the parent, published Tuesday on the social media account Libs of TikTok, Director of Student Development Jeffrey Wakemen defended the upcoming event.

“While the event title can sound provocative, its purpose is educational rather than promotional or explicit in nature,” he wrote, according to the post. “I have attended the event in the past and the jokes may be adult themed, but I can attest the education is real.”

Stockton is a public university in New Jersey, and the groups hosting the event are official student organizations.

A poster for the Oct. 22 event describes it as “Bingo gone wild and fabulous.”

“Not your average bingo night! Join our fabulous drag queens for outrageous laughs, cheeky prizes, and a wild night you won’t forget,” an ad states. “Fun, flirty, and fabulous! Come play, slay, and win!”

In his email, Wakemen told the parent, whose daughter is a freshman, that the event is voluntary, and the university acknowledges that not everyone will agree with every event hosted by the approximately 250 student groups on campus.

He also said the event was paid for with student fees and approved by the university.

“Similar programs have been offered here and elsewhere to promote discussions around healthy relationships, consent, and sexual health in a candid and responsible setting,” Wakemen wrote.

Explicit sexual programming, including drag shows, sex toy giveaways, abortion parties, and more, have become commonplace on many college campuses in recent years.

Recently, Harvard University hired a drag queen known as “LaWhore Vagistan” to teach a class on “Queer Ethnography.”

The College Fix also has been reporting about the backlash over a University of Nebraska graduate student who organized a drag show “Mass” for his doctoral degree.
