Forget Belle Knox: American University sophomore getting famous for BDSM

Porn stars in college used to try to keep their profile low. Remember the kid from Grove City College?

That changed with the emergence of the Duke porn star Belle Knox and her newer sorority sister in smut, East Carolina University’s Carter Cruise, as The College Fix has documented.

We may be getting a preview of the next college porn star, courtesy of a glowing profile in The Eagle at American University – “Gwen” the sophomore and girl next door:

[O]n any given night she might also be suspended from metal hooks attached to a pendulum of thick ropes, arms behind her back, not very clothed and taking orders from a top, or dominant partner, in a dungeon. The Crucible in NoMa, Maryland served as D.C.’s primary dungeon for local kinksters, including Gwen.

Gwen is an up-and-coming bottom, or submissive partner, in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia’s BDSM community. Her involvement in the scene started after she joined a social networking site for kinksters. Later, her friend invited her to The Crucible.

It’s taken Gwen only two months to get invited to a DMV fetish ball and Philly kink convention.

The story lays out how normal BDSM is (it’s only half sexual) and how “much older” kinksters want to “play” with Gwen, not because she’s barely legal but because of her “attitude”:

“One of the most common things I’ve gotten is people really want to play with me because, apparently, I have this energy that is super positive and open and whether you are believer of energy or play or not, it’s a factor,” Gwen said. “It’s an amazing thing to feel and to be the recipient and the cause of.”

She speaks of getting into BDSM play the way you’d talk about a professional mentor:

Gwen’s attitude has led to her rise in the local scene. Well-known people in the BDSM community have wanted to play with the AU sophomore since her introduction, and her first partner turned out to be well-connected.

“I’ve been very blessed to have been brought into it at such a level,” Gwen said. “I’ve just been very lucky and very thankful for that and [it has] opened a lot of doors for me.”

She’s gotten nothing but affirmation from people who enjoy tying her up, burning her and “suctioning [her] skin until it swells and reddens.” The Eagle even includes photos of Gwen in her ropes.

Except for her use of an alias – showing there’s some shame left in the ivory tower – Gwen’s story sounds a lot like Carter Cruise’s.

The former East Carolina sorority girl has spoken of her love of hazing, her inability to turn down a sex dare (“I never want to be a pussy”), and her testing of the smut waters, from rough sex with her boyfriend to “erotic photography” to extreme porn to submitting to a sexual assault in a public restroom because why the hell not.

Gwen also has her supportive community of geriatric perverts and she’s only had one bad experience – she ignored her screener’s advice to avoid an “extreme, hard top” (dominant partner) at the annual Fetish Ball. So she’s still optimistic about this fun new world. What could go wrong?

Perhaps it will stay fun and she won’t get burned (metaphorically) as long as she keeps her privacy and can resist the money that flows if you perform for the camera.

And if not, Gwen will make a name for herself and America will have to adjust to another contradiction – the college campus that celebrates both violent sex and the expulsion of men if their sex partners are silent.
