Fort Lewis Prof. Emeritus David Kozak gives the finger to TPUSA supporters; Libs of TikTok/X

Gives the finger, says ‘Fuck the Nazis’

A professor emeritus at Colorado’s Fort Lewis College went on an unhinged vulgar rant after a Turning Point USA chapter was approved for the school.

“You’re a fucking Nazi lover,” Professor David Kozak, who taught anthropology, tells several TPUSA supporters in a video obtained by Libs of TikTok. “C’mon Nazi! C’mon Nazi!” he says.

Kozak then notices he’s being filmed, so he waves and holds up a middle finger for the camera. “Fuck the Nazis,” he says.

The video ends with the professor wishing the “fascist/Nazi lovers” a good night.

As reported by The College Fix on Tuesday, Fort Lewis initially had rejected a TPUSA chapter, but reversed course after an “emergency” student government meeting on Nov. 7.

As in person, Kozak doesn’t hold back on social media when it comes to politics. Libs of TikTok notes a Facebook post from three years ago in which he claims “Trump Republicans are a clear and present danger to democracy in the U.S. and around the world,” and says people voting for them are voting for “autocracy or theocracy if not outright fascism.”

Kozak also “begged” people to vote for “any candidate who is not a right-wing kook.”

Another of the prof’s Facebook posts notes he “looked forward to seeing Trump in handcuffs.” (His Facebook was made private on Thursday.)

Kozak’s Rate My Professors page was reviewed bombed on Nov. 13, but written commentaries prior to this year include three positives and one negative. The latter notes he “loves to talk about politics and ramble up on his soap box about evil conservatives, white privilege, racism, and all the leftist talking points.”

According to a 1995 interview, Kozak himself is a graduate of Fort Lewis College following a stint in the U.S. Air Force. As an undergrad he wrote for an “alternative” to the school paper called the “Y” that handled “more politically oriented kinds of pieces,” and he helped start a group called The Durango Committee on Central America (likely centered on Nicaragua given the time frame).

The group once disrupted a popular winter festival in Durango because, as Kozak said, “we were doing a very political statement at that time.”

Ironically, in 2017 Kozak wrote an op-ed blasting trigger warnings, saying “My responsibility is to determine how best to teach a range of materials to generate critical dialogue, including materials that students may find troubling because of their own personal, cultural or religious views. It is better to assist students to confront the things they might not like, rather than to shield them from it.”

Editor’s note: Although the article clearly states Kozak is a professor emeritus who taught (not teaches) anthropology, the original headline read “professor.” The headline has been updated to note Kozak’s “emeritus” status following a request by Fort Lewis’s public information officer.
