Key Takeaways

  • A George Washington University student expressed support for the assassination of Charlie Kirk, labeling him a 'Nazi' and insisting he deserved to die due to his views on abortion.
  • During a discussion with Kristan Hawkins, the student dismissed Kirk's status as a father, arguing against his pro-life stance and mocking his hypothetical comments about a child born from rape.

A George Washington University student recently defended the assassination of Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk. The student also shared a hate crime hoax and insisted the murdered conservative leader was a “Nazi.”

Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins engaged with students last Monday, Sept. 22 at the D.C. university.

During the tabling, a black female student expressed support for the murder of Kirk. “You think he got what he deserved,” Hawkins asked the student. “Yeah,” the student responded. Prior to that statement, she claimed Kirk was a “Nazi.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah” she said laughing. “Hi to the camera, hi to the camera.”

Hawkins then challenged the student, asking her if she really thought it was okay to murder Kirk, a “father of two.”

“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, a father of two. He wanted his child to carry a baby if they got raped,” she shouted.

“He said that if his nine-year-old [ten-year-old] daughter got raped, he would make her carry that baby to term,” the student said. Kirk made the statement about a hypothetical situation during a debate with pro-abortion activists.

Writing in National Review, Kathryn Jean Lopez provided further commentary on Kirk’s response.

“Charlie explained that human rights are human rights, and he pointed out that you can’t tell the difference between the ultrasound of a baby conceived in rape and one of a baby conceived in love (or, at least, not rape),” Lopez wrote. “That’s because they are both human. And we don’t do evil in response to evil. I’m pretty sure in another similar exchange I heard him say when pressed to defend his position: Because in our family, we don’t kill.”

While arguing with Hawkins, the student reiterated Kirk her assertion that the TPUSA leader “was a f**king Nazi.”

She also claimed that “black students were lynched on campus,” after Kirk died. “Delta State University,” someone yelled from the crowd.

On Sept. 18, a black student at Delta State University was found dead, hanging by a noose from the tree. At this time, the police do not suspect any foul play.

In any case, Hawkins confirmed lynching is always wrong, even if it was legal, drawing a parallel to the pro-life movement. “Our legality does not make our morality,” the pro-life leader said.

This is not the first time someone laughed at Kirk. Soon after hearing Kirk had been shot, a student laughed after being told about the news by Hawkins at University of Montana.
