Key Takeaways

  • Adjunct professor Salvatore Fallica of NYU and Adelphi claims Charlie Kirk is not a victim of violence due to his 'homophobic' and 'racist' rhetoric, following Kirk's assassination by an alleged antifascist.
  • Fallica describes the MAGA movement as filled with 'liars' and calls for their exclusion from public discourse, labeling several prominent right-wing figures as 'criminals' and 'psychopaths.'
  • Fallica teaches a course on propaganda, where students examine its historical context and impact in modern politics.

An adjunct professor who teaches at New York U. and Adelphi University believes Charlie Kirk — who was assassinated Wednesday by an alleged “antifascist” 20-something — is not a “victim” due to his “homophobic” and “racist” rhetoric.

According to his X feed, Salvatore Fallica (who uses all lowercase and includes “dr.” in his handle) also believes members of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement are “liars” who should be “excluded from public discourse,” and that Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, Pete Hegseth and other members of the presidential administration are “criminals [and] psychopaths.”

Fallica also asked “[W]ho has been more hateful than the right wing?”

Similar to his Kirk-not-being-a-victim tweet, Fallica retweeted artist Andrea Junker‘s statement that Kirk “was the victim of a shooting in a country where he, along with other right-wing extremist influencers, have been inciting violence for years.”

Junker added Kirk “is neither a martyr nor a hero, he is a cause.”

Fallica, who teaches a course titled “Propaganda and Communication,” also retweeted a post that claims “Anti-intellectualism has been rebranded as patriotism.”

According to the course description, students in Fallica’s propaganda class will “begin their inquiry by looking at the historical development of propaganda before examining the techniques, models and practices used in modern political campaigns and by advertising and public relations.”

“More specifically,” students will learn “how propaganda is embedded in different media and campaign practices” — like twitter feeds.

Fallica’s NYU Steinhardt page notes he’s the author of the paper “Bob Dylan and Spectacle Culture – Yesterday and Today,” and gave a presentation titled “Justice Samuel Alito, the Erasure of History and the Dobbs Opinion” (Dobbs being the 2022 U.S. Supreme Court case overturning Roe v. Wade) three years ago at the annual New York State Communication Association Conference.

Fallica did not respond to a request for comment from The College Fix regarding his tweets, in particular the query who’s been “more hateful than the right wing?”
