Last night, Stephen Colbert spoofed Tim Pawlenty’s, er, self-proclaimed youth appeal, with his invocations of Charlie Sheen and Lady Gaga. The clip features this quote from Pawlenty on March 22:
“I have a more recent connection to the younger generation than some have or might have had in the past.”
Fun fact: On March 22, SFPA member and Vanderbilt Hustler news editor Kyle Blaine interviewed Gov. Tim Pawlenty about his appeal to the youths of America, and he said that very sentence. It’s his reporting! CNN picked up the quote in a little brief about Pawlenty’s youthful vigor and obvious finesse last week, and then onto Colbert.
And good times were had by all. (Except for Pawlenty.)
