Republican lawmakers cheer Trump’s nomination of Betsy DeVos for education secretary

UPDATED

President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday he would nominate conservative philanthropist and charter-school advocate Betsy DeVos (disclosure) as his secretary of education, and the praise quickly rolled in from Republican lawmakers and other elected officials.
