University Forbids Poster That Takes A Stand Against Communism

by Jennifer Kabbany - Associate Editor on November 21, 2013

A poster meant to illustrate the number of individuals who have been murdered by collectivist governments was deemed too harsh by officials at Duquesne University, which disallowed the image from hanging on campus.

The poster, which featured a picture of human skulls and bones, the number of people murdered by leaders of various “progressive social movements” – nearly 100 million people – and the phrase “Leftist Ideas: Progressing Toward Tyranny,” was apparently “too off-putting,” sophomore Bridget Seelinger, 20, said she was told.

On Monday, Nov. 18, she met with a campus administrator who told her the skulls poster was too upsetting to allow to hang in the school’s largest dorm, she said in an interview with The College Fix.

“I am upset about the censorship,” said Seelinger, a nursing major at the private, Catholic institution in Pittsburg. “I understand if it was racist or included death threats, but something like that is virtually harmless. I don’t understand why anyone had a problem with it, and why skulls are so scary.”poster

University officials did not respond to a request by The College Fix for comment on Wednesday.

Seelinger, president of the College Republicans at the university, said the posters were provided by Young America’s Foundation for its “Freedom Week” campaign, which aims to recognize the Nov. 9 anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, as well as Veterans Day. In addition to the posters, high school and college students across the country also undertake other projects as part of the commemoration, such as build and then tear down a mock Berlin Wall.

Patrick Coyle, vice president of Young America’s Foundation, said he found the censorship surprising for a Catholic university, “considering the role Pope John Paul II played in bringing down communism.”

The skulls poster was one of three created for the Freedom Week observance.

“The goal of the (skulls) poster is to underscore the number of individuals who have been murdered by collectivist governments,” Coyle stated in an email. “Sometimes, the truth hurts. There are professors and administrators on our campuses who still embrace collectivist ideas, and it shocks them when we point out how many have fallen victim to their ideas.”

Seelinger, in writing about her experience on Young America’s Foundation website, adds “when campus administrators use their own personal view to determine which ideas students should encounter, it does a disservice to everyone on campus.”

The Federal govt needs an enema staring with little zero-bama…and then flushed down the sewer with the rest of the demon-RATS!

  • ussr51478

Alright! The private schools are joining the chorus now. Awesome! Lets speed up that “progressive step” toward bright communist future. Beacause it worked soooo well elsewhere. Lets grow the next crop of idiotic idealists!

    • jumper297

Too late for that I’m afraid… the seeds were planted in the 60′s and we’re well into reaping what we’ve sown.

  • kill them all

Send these idots to a re education camp ln China! These are not educators they need to be fired, IF THEY WERE IN MY SCHOOL DISTRICT OR COLLEGE THESE STUPID “REDS” WOULD BE HOUNDED OUT OF THE STATE!!!!

  • smg45acp

This poster is disgusting and full of lies.
The Communist governments listed on it killed twice as many people than the poster says they did.

    • Hanoisteve

If we are keeping score, How many did the Capitalist kill in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Korea, Latin America & Afghanistan (please include the Mujahadin and warlords/drug gangs supported by the west in your totals). These number only reflect Americas involvement in foreign wars of aggression and do not include client dictators, death squads and political violence.

      • John

Even if you did tally all the scores you cite above, and use the most inflated numbers presented, you still wouldn’t get the same total. So go ahead.

        • Hanoisteve

But the point of the poster is:
Democrats = progressives = Pol Pot

          This assumption Is ridiculous.

          • JimmyBobs22

…. Steve says after the Senate just changed the rules, and Obama thinks he can just change laws because he wants to….etc. etc. etc…

          • Hanoisteve

Yes the senate can change the rules of the chamber to allow a majority vote to pass a nomination, Since when does 60% threshold represent democracy and the will of the majority?

          • JimmyBobs22

Since this country was set up as a Republic, not a democracy, that’s when! And the senate under Republican control has never done that, but the little cry babies have. And they were always the ones whining “what about the wishes of the minority?!” when they were not in power. They’re despicable. I’ll bet you anything they will change the rules back on their last day in office if they lose their control of the Senate.

          • Shogunz

Actually, the last time Reps were majority they threatened the Dems with the *exact same thing*, but didn’t follow through. It’s not like either party is really much different on the B.S. meter.

          • JimmyBobs22

Since when can a President just change the law because he “says so”… ? (Obama with the AFA in case you don’t know what I’m talking about.)

          • cama9

As JimmyBobs noted, America is a Republic and in a Republic a simple majority is not real representation. As Ben Franklin wisely noted: Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

          • eaglestalon

Hey MORON, we don’t live in a democracy, we live in a Representative Republic. Go away idiot, you really are to f’n stupid to stomach this early in the day.

          • BklnLos

The Rule change only makes the senate revert back to a pre-2000 state of operations. Don’t lose any sleep over it.

          • Michael Brian Smallwood

The point is that Democrats are moving towards communism with their current agenda = Pol Pot. The Jews in Germany circa 1933 thought the same way you do now

          • Hanoisteve

Passing a law that helps people buy insurance from private insurance companies is the same thing as emptying the cities and forcing everyone into labour camps.

*bonus factoid: President Reagan supported the Khmer Rouge as the legitimate representative of the Cambodian people at the UN and supplied them food and weapons in their camps along the Thai Cambodia border to fight the Vietnamese.

            SHUT up dolt!

          • Hanoisteve

Is that all you have? Shut Up.

          • Ming the Merciless

Is that all you have, communist agit-prop?

Ok Ill fix it, shut up Koolaid drinking Born and Bred Dope.

          • Rowwdy Colt

It’s better than anything you have to offer.

          • TexanPatriot2

That’s the usual reaction of progressives — shut up the opposition, and if they won’t, then kill them.

          • ghost

Passing a law that REQUIRES people to buy insurance from a private company… In Italy they called it “Fascism”.

          • BklnLos

How does making people buy insurance from private insurance companies even remotely close to a leftist idea? The ACA (Obamacare) is a conservative healthcare reform idea directly from the Heritage Foundation. It can’t get more conservative in philosophy than that. The Dems co-opting the idea does not make it a stepping stone to a Marxist state.

          • bobfairlane

ROFL. Calling Obamacare conservative….. You had to “pass it so we could see what is in it,” including gun grabs and taxes, and jailing dissidents. So “conservative.”

          • BklnLos

I was referring to the ACA and only the ACA. I’m not going to argue ad nuaseam over what is verifiable fact. So instead I’ll let you read it.

            http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2012/02/07/the-tortuous-conservative-history-of-the-individual-mandate/

            also:
            http://healthcarereform.procon.org/sourcefiles/1989_assuring_affordable_health_care_for_all_americans.pdf

The second link is a pdf of HF’s own policy proposal. I’m not going to argue the merits or liabilities of it . But if you are going to blame it’s origin you should go and actually blame the true source.

I for one believe if we are to have a Universal Healthcare plan it should go the way of the Dutch plan which is more of a managed competition model, which owes it’s origin to Alain Enthoven of the jackson Hole group another conservative think thank.

Now as to the poster on that campus. In cases like this, I tend to almost always go with “if it’s true and you can back up it up with verifiable facts”, which is the case here than they should be able to run with it. The campus admin dropped the ball here.

          • TexanPatriot2

2/3rds of the law was created by entries into the Federal Register well after it was passed. Including the “Individual Mandate” “Tax”.

          • Steven

Um, no sorry BkInLos – you got that talking point from Dems.
Just an FYI : I’m an Independent.
The Heritage Foundation plan had, at its’ CONERSTONE, exchanges across state lines – not the 3-5 companies per state cartels that the ACA is reinforcing.
So instead of 3-5 choices per state, people would have HUNDREDS of choices across the nation.

          • TexanPatriot2

Bingo…..Congress should have regulated commerce to specifically ALLOW for competition across State Lines.

But instead now we have 3-5 companies, offering 3 plans, all of which offer the SAME things with the only thing varying are premiums based on where you live and the monthly cost and the deductibles. .

          • TexanPatriot2

Then why didn’t a single conservative vote for it…if in fact it were so conservative as you CLAIM. Hmm?

          • bobfairlane

Yes, they were big fans of communism and all too glad to join the Red Army.

          • JimmyBobs22

It’s not an assumption. It’s a natural progression.

You do know that former Mayor Bloomberg is a republican?

          • JimmyBobs22

Yes. Republican means nothing. He’s not a Conservative. A conservative would not try to implement such nonsense.

          • Hanoisteve

Don’t use the Republican name anymore since President Bush made such a mess before leaving office. Now you are know as Conservatives. How many members of congress are from the Conservative party?

          • lapin.grove

Hello, LOSER! I am an independent…so there you dolt!

          • JimmyBobs22

Please elucidate on what “mess” Bush made. Housing bubble?… nope… Dems caused that (Frank/Dodd). Hated around the world? LOL… look at us now after 5 years of Obummer… our *alies* even hate us. Recessions come and go, and recovery is always less than 2 years…. 5 years and counting under B.O. He’s not “spreading wealth”; he’s spreading *misery*. Happens every time liberalism is implemented.
P.S. “How many members of congress are from the Conservative party?” — Answer: NOT ENOUGH!!!!!

Republicans come in different flavors. Bush, Rove, Boehner, Mitchell and many others who control the party are Big Government, Establishment Republicans; NOT Conservatives. Bloomberg is just a flat out liberal who is literally a RINO so he could run against the Democrat. No mystery there.

          • eaglestalon

Latest poll from the very LIBERAL CBS shows if election were held today Romney beats Obumbler. The fools approval ratings are at 37% and falling faster then Whale shit headed for the Ocean floor.

RINO so he could get elected by the lazy minorities

          • Jeff

Bloomberg is an independent. Started out as a Dem.

          • eaglestalon

Fool! First of all Bloomberg has been a Democrat, Independent AND a Republicam. He has, like most leftists, no central beliefs at all but will morph into whatever he thinks he has to be to get votes.

In short he is a pathetic hypocrite, a liberal, but then I am redundant….

          • Smoking Hamster

Mayor Bloomberg was not a republican, he was an independent.

IN DENMARK, Some of them are starting to KNOW SO!

          • Saffka

It starts with centralization of power and destruction of natural rights (which amounts to the right to opt out). Power gets centralized with a state bureaucracy.

It can then stay suspended there for as long as it takes for someone to walk through the door and abuse it. It didn’t take long in the Soviet Union, Cambodia and China – because those countries had a tradition of totalitarianism and were more amenable to being forced into it.

In the west, with its culture of individualism, the task is trickier and it will take longer. You may not end up in death camps, but you are extremely likely to have your healthcare mandated by the corporations that own your centralized government – that means fine for not packing the ‘right’ food in your kid’s lunchbox, being force medicated by big pharma and lots of other fun stuff. You won’t be able to opt out, since you surrendered your right to do so when you thought you were going to get free stuff.

Nope. you’ll just have your money stolen to enslave you and your children. How progressive. Enjoy it.

          • Hanoisteve

Power get centralised by un-regulated capitalism, the quest for profits and market share create “natural” monopolies that limit your choice. The conservative supreme court just gave corporations the rights of people.

Cambodia was neutral until The US supported Lon Nol to over throw the monarchy and started bombing. So no they did not have a “tradition of totalitarianism” it was imported.

Conservatives and the tea party want to disband the FDA and free corporations to poison your kids with junk in the pursuit of increase profits, “so what if that preservative slowly gives you cancer, it increases shelf life and makes more money” who is checking in Tea Party world?

The pentagon has been stealing your kids money for 50 years now. How Conservative, but there is not much to enjoy.

          • Jay Walker

You confuse capitalism with corporatism/facism. You may want to look up the difference

          • NVRSTUK

Wouldn’t they make more money if food had a SHORTER shelf life?????

          • Hanoisteve

Not if it goes bad on the shelf in the store and has to be thrown away.

          • Branch Sepherd

A monopoly can not exist with out government protection. With out all of the fees and obstructions that government puts in the way of competing start ups, those that over price will be undercut by new competition in the market place.

          • Hanoisteve

Wallmart controls the market by their sheer size, the only reason they don’t make deals with some like target and divide territory in to exclusive zones is because of Gov anti trust regulations. You had a time in america with out anti trust laws and no FDIC, and there were crashes every 20 years. and monopolies controls major industries and transportation. it does not matter if you make a better cheaper product, you can’t get raw materials to produce and get it to market you cant compete.

Your grocery shelves are controlled by 5 companies even if your don’t want to buy from Nestle you would have a hard time avoiding because they purchased all the brand names. Even if you made a better food product you could not get it on the shelves because the large companies through the control of a wide range of products can dictate pricing and product placement. “don’t sell that product or we pull out” or under cut pricing to drive you out of business.

            It’s the American way.

          • Doug

How did Walmart get so big? Hint – it invented a whole new method of retailing and was better than anyone else at executing it. What are the five food companies that you think control the shelves today? Hint – they aren’t the same ones that did 20 years ago.

Creative destruction is the reason people hate capitalism, not monopoly. Monopoly makes life soft and easy. Creative destruction makes it hard and competitive.

          • Hanoisteve

Wallmart’s whole new system is to use their size to source their products from the cheapest suppliers available, depressing wages and working conditions in a race to to bottom, that is why they are shifting production to Bangladesh, and Africa away from China. The Chinese what 1.50$ a day, that is too much the Africans will do it for .75$

The five food companies are the same as 20 years ago, they have just change the brand names and logos. Nestlé , unilever, Tyson, monsanto & Kraft own you colin.

Creative destruction is just a buzz word the transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in our current conditions. If left un regulated it will lead to it’s destruction by the greedy share holders. You could now call it disastor capitalism.

          • the_strickler

Walmart does not control the market. I shop at:
            Target
            Kohls
            JCPenney
            Amazon
            Ebay
            Kroger
            Meijer
            Home Depot
            Lowes
            Whole Foods
            Trader Joes
            and many others.

By the way, there are dozens of farmer’s markets in my area where I can shop and get plenty of fresh locally grown food.

          • Hanoisteve

Great, you listed a bunch of corporate chain stores as a example of choice. They use the Walmart model, source from the cheapest place possible, employ temp labour to cut overhead and shift cost to the government and use bankruptcy law to shaft the pensioners.

          • TexanPatriot2

Threaten to shut down Walmart over Obamacare and see how fast they use their financial muscle against the incumbents….

          • Saffka

Nice strawmanning there pal. I am not a conservative or a member of the tea party.

Let’s take this step by step:
“Power get centralised by un-regulated capitalism, the quest for profits
and market share create “natural” monopolies that limit your choice. The
conservative supreme court just gave corporations the rights of people.”

Incorrect, regulations create monopolies, since the first things to be bought and sold in a regulated market are the regulators. These are then used to impose anti-competitive regulations, which favour certain corporations. The state and its regulators therefore become facilitators of monopoly. Without regulation and a strong state the only way to create a monopoly is to have monopoly ownership of a scarce resource (I find a UFO in my back yard and sell its parts on eBay) or to create a product so superior and affordable that nobody else can compete. Sounds terrible.

In any case it is possible to provide consumer information without a state regulatory body (this is happening right now with organic foods) so that people can make informed choices. In a free market businesses have little incentive to kill and maim their customers, and destroy their reputations in the process since competitors can trade off this to promote their own goods. The problem may not be regulation but rather apathy as many people are happy to do things that are terrible for them in order to obtain a short term reward – good luck trying to regulate that out of society.

“Cambodia was neutral until The US supported Lon Nol to over throw the
monarchy and started bombing. So no they did not have a “tradition of
            totalitarianism” it was imported.”

Assuming you are correct this just means that this event proved to be the catalyst for the abuse of power that the strong state instrument provided. You have disproved nothing, just presented a catalyst. There will always be catalysts that will be used to create the conditions for the centralized state to be abused – whether organic or created.

Money getting funneled to the military industrial complex is a know and recognized danger of the strong state, along with every other kind of abuse of the monopoly on force which allows the ‘few’ to appropriate the property of the many.

          • Doug

“Power get centralised by un-regulated capitalism, the quest for profits and market share create “natural” monopolies that limit your choice.” How then do you explain the erosion of Microsoft’s “monopoly” over the internet search market? The erosion of Apple’s “monopoly” over the smartphone and tablet markets? Do you have a clue what a “natural monopoly” is? The fact is that there are few, if any, monopolies that exist except by Government force.

          • Hanoisteve

Microsoft was stopped by anti-trust regulations and the courts. Same with apple trying to patent everything like roundes corners, anti-trust laws gave room for other competitors . If AT&T was not broken up do you think their would be more than one carrier? My regulated phone/Internet is 35$ a month I don’t have a contract and can switch any time I want. How is your free market service going?

          • TexanPatriot2

            So what’s left?

            Either:

Sit and take it and try to adapt — the truly adaptable will find a way to thrive — so will the actual productive people.

Run away — many will do this and just drop off the grid — if they can’t see you they can’t find you. Find some dusty enclave in a small corner of Texas, off the grid, a small community of like minded souls. Or there’s Costa Rica.

Rebel — when pushed TOO hard. Some will try this.

          • cama9

            It’s not an assumption, it’s a FACT!
Though, in truth, the progressive movement knows no party affiliation. It’s Marxist ideology, known as the Fabian Society in England, and the Progrssive Movement in America. Teddy Roosevelt, Republican, was a Progressive.

          • BklnLos

To equate Teddy Roosevelt to a modern progressive shows a fundamental lack of comprehension about history. TR’s reforms strengthened capitalism on many fronts. Allowing smaller businesses to thrive and compete against entrenched , and corrupt monopolies that were subverting the free market. You need some regulation in the free market in order to prevent it’s self destruction.

          • cama9

Progressivism = Fabian Socialism and if you don’t know that then it’s up to you to learn it.
Fabian Socialism is stealth communism and the Fabians NEVER hid that, in spite of what current pundits like to profess. Americans have easily accepted many of Marx’s 10 Planks: The IRS and a graduated income tax is plank #2, estate taxes are plank #3, the Federal Reserve Bank is plank #5, the FCC and Dept of Transportation is plank #6, the minimum wage is plank #8, and the Dept of Education and now Common Core are plank #10.
Teddy believed in practically unbridled power for the executive branch and said if there was nothing in the Constitution about what he can’t do, then he can do it!
But this quote, said on March 4, 1905, says it all to me, “Much has been given us, and much will rightfully be exected from us. We have duties to others and duties to ourselves; and we can shirk neither. We have become a great nation, forced by the fact if its greatness into relations with the other nations of the earth, and we must behave as beseems a people with such responsibility.”
Wow! He starts with, “From each according to their ability to each according to their need,” and ends with the Trotsky/neocon idea of interventionism even before the Trotsky/neocons existed! He sqashes the idea of the ‘sovereign individual’ and introduces collectivist ideology. If you can’t see that, then it’s no wonder America is in the mess that it’s in!

          • Hanoisteve

Did you learn that from Glen Beck?

          • cama9

You have a serious problem. No, to your question. I began studying Fabian Socialism/progressivism in 2000. Beck wasn’t even a blip on my screen back then.

          • Hanoisteve

It aims to promote greater equality of power, wealth and opportunity; the value of collective action and public service; an accountable, tolerant and active democracy; citizenship, liberty and human rights; sustainable development; and multilateral international cooperation.

            Sounds horrible.

          • cama9

Happy you agree with me that it’s HORRIBLE!

          • Hanoisteve

            Ha Ha

          • bullib

It amazes me how commie-libs think they are the “cool intellectuals”, thinking they have formulated their positions through direct osmosis from God. When in reality, they are angry, ignorant, cancerous pieces of human excrement, spewing the same leftist commie poison today that has failed hundreds of societies for thousands of years. Glen Beck? No. Thomas Jefferson.

          • rogiedodgie

Like I said. You liberals can’t handle the truth!

Obamacare is the revived version of the T-4 Program. Hitler would be very proud.

From EIR: In July of 1939, a conference of medical
professionals was held in Berlin, Germany. Participating were the professors and chairmen of the departments of psychiatry of the leading universities and medical schools of Germany, many of them, the most respected professionals in their fields. The subject? What would be the criteria for determining what patients would be considered to have “lives unworthy to be lived,” and what was the most “practical and cheap” manner of removing them from being burdens on the health-care

Not even CLOSE to the over TWO MILLION killed by Pol Pot after you pantywaste Lefties had us leave the South Vietnamese high and dry when we pulled out in the mid 1970′s.

WE had a TREATY with South Vietnam to aid them in the event of an attack on them and we honored that treaty. It was the TOTAL mismanagement of that war by the Liberal politicians like Johnson who micromanaged to actions and battle plans of the generals in the theater of operations. That war could have been won in 2 years and in fact the military leader of all the N Vietnamese forces ADMITTED they were all but finished and was readdy to surrender unconditionally until he was talked out of it by an assistant who advised he wait. Why? Because andf you liberal friends were busy turning Americans against the war and the NV believed it was a matter of time before we would lose the will to fight and simply leave, He was right and we lost 55,000 soldiers all for nothing.

Here, liberal. This from an interview with Bui Tin, a former colonel who served on the general staff of the North Vietnamese army, that included the following
        exchange:

        Read more at http://www.snopes.com/quotes/giap.asp#K3T7CB0ufQSV6LQT.99

Q: Was the American antiwar movement important to Hanoi’s victory?

A: It was essential to our strategy. Support for the war from our rear
was completely secure while the American rear was vulnerable. Every day
our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9 a.m.
to follow the growth of the American antiwar movement. Visits to Hanoi
by people like Jane Fonda and former Attorney General Ramsey Clark and
ministers gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of
battlefield reverses. We were elated when Jane Fonda, wearing a red
Vietnamese dress, said at a press conference that she was ashamed of
American actions in the war and that she would struggle along with us.

You don’t know much about Vietnamese history, They have a long history of fighting invaders, They are the people who defeated the Mongol invasion TWICE and would have never given up.

in 1963 The CIA help orchestrate the coup and murder of Diem and installed a military dictatorship, so the treaty was as much of a joke as WMD and Iraq.

Of course the anti war movement helped end the unjust war, Who would want to be drafted and go fight 10,000 miles away, take one for the team to win? It’s not a football game.

about three million. most of the places on your list were fights against communists and those killed were unintentional collateral damage, carelessness, or even occasional callousness in fights against communism. the dead listed on the poster were communist governments killing their OWN people as a matter of INTENTIONAL policy whose specific objective was to KILL them. trying to equate them is the same as trying to compare French and Italian civilian casualties caused by the Allies, and the genocide policies of the Nazis. oh wait, why is the national SOCIALIST party not on the list?

Hey, Hanoi. Your argument rings hollow. The point of the poster is that those “command and control” regimes (like the one the USA has now) killed THEIR OWN people in the name of progress. Although it’s not out of the question with our current regime, but the last time I checked our current regime has not murdered 2 million of its own citizens yet to advance their cause. Dimwit.

I did this calculation in 1969 during the height of the Vietnam war as the rhetoric was popular with comunists in NYC where I grew up. The words were fed to them by the Kremlin as has been proved by the release of the confidential papers from the KGB after 1990, which most kids today know not. Kids believe anything from the Harvard Yale Princeton cabal, rather like the Cambridge 5. (USe google) The number I referred to is a net number because you have to net out the communists we killed off and then the civilian deaths the comunists ran as part of communism. Then you have to figure out the net number of the people we saved from communism and the death camps the communists always like, if not outright murder and starvation. The net number saved by the UNited States is 6 billion. In 1969 it was 3.5 billion. The number goes up each year especially in the third world which the modern comuists want to kill off to fight globalk warming. Global warming and gaia worship are the modern comunism. Kill people to worship….odd religion, but that’s modern communism.

doesn’t mean that the college has the right to censor what someone puts on the wall FOR WHICH THEY ARE PAYING. They’re not doing anything illegal. How is it any differently, from them saying she can’t express her opinion in the form of a poster, than someone banning Fox for expressing their FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Heck, liberals want to claim “bad media” all the time, and censor it; what if it hits THEIR OWN front door? What if their prescious huffington post were getting a ban notice or takedown…I doubt they’d be just AS enthusiastic. That’s the double-sided sickness that has taken over liberal obamacracy.

I would, yes, expect this sort of thing from a PUBLIC college…but a PRIVATE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY?

And as soon as I saw the Duquesne, I knew, being a history buff, that this is from MY state. Thankfully I don’t have whiney roommates who would meddle with what I’d put up on my wall hypothetically. But sometimes it feels like it’d be fun to use the same weapons that THEY use AGAINST them, and tick THEM off for a change. that is, put this poster up if I were to ever have an actual roomate. BWAHAH, I’m Evil. However, I won’t stoop to their levels, as unfortunate as it is to be bound to a moral doctrine as opposed to following temptations. But fortunately many of the kids are starting to question the Leftist drivel and stand up to it. The “Frankfort School” infested our colleges in the 1950′s. the baby Boomers were educated by them, and now they are the old professors trying to indoctrinate a new generation. This should come as no surprise coming from a Catholic institution. The Church has been under attack from the inside for decades with communists infiltrating it and taking positions as priests, nuns, and administrators of Catholic organizations and entities.

    • Shogunz

Christianity was the first communism – they originally opposed free markets, calling it sinful and that people should use a “just price” (search the web on “church just price” if you doubt it). In fact, the church disallowed interest on loans by Christians, so Christian loans were rare; this led to Jews in the middle ages being the primary source of loans. That is the origin of where we get the anti-Semitism that relates Jews with money, as the church labeled this all as evil usury.

      • Smoking Hamster

Christianity practiced voluntary communitarianism at times.

Just price theory originates from Greek philosophy and was advocated by Aquinas.

It is not based on Scripture in any way. Ironically, Marx, the author of Communism was an anti-Semite according to your definition. Read his on the Jewish question.

  • Slartibartfast

I used to chuckle at the number of Marxists lecturing in the College where I teach. Nowadays, it’s not so funny. Deconstructing a play or a poem using Marxist dialectics can be an interesting exercise – I often do it as an example of why existential criticism is preferable to Marxist or Freudian or feminist or any other kind of prescriptive artistic criticism. But some of these people have no idea just how destructive their world view can be when actually put into practice. Others want to destroy the world around them and welcome Marxist ideology as a via ad rei. Until this changes, you might want to think about supporting more local, community colleges.

    • Shogunz

You call yourself an educator, but you apparently fail to grasp how un-Marxist the Soviets were. Just because they used a term that Marx used, does not mean they are the same thing.

      • Smoking Hamster

10 planks of Communism. All were implemented in the Soviet Union.

“1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
        2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
        3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
        4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
        5. Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
        6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
        7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
        8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
        9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
        10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c. “

How US taxes are spent, yoo hoo:

NSA, DOE, FDA, EPA, IRS, DEA, CIA, FBI, DEP, NPS, TSA, DHS, CIA, DNR, USDA, DOT, NFS, ATF, USPP, DPS, FEMA (and FEMA camps), etc., (and growing) federal agencies (each now armed and with their own SWAT Team) becoming predatory towards it’s citizens, that produce nothing and generate no revenue but require massive funding from a dwindling, overtaxed private citizen work force.

Outright confiscation of private citizen’s property and wealth is all but carved in stone to feed this monster (and you wondered why all those FEMA camps? How else can they fund all these expanding federal agency complexes, vehicles, salaries, junkets, conferences (parties) and pensions?).

And ‘who’ really controls the UN and NATO?

    YOUR taxes are funding this.

    YOUR being slowly corralled.

Yes… there’s another rabid elephant rampaging in the room that seems to go unnoticed:

When will there be substantive discussion about exposing the UN? Proven corrupt, unelected, made up mostly of 3rd world dictatorships.

NATO, the UN, (and all it’s agencies including the IMF and World Bank, and all of it’s commissions, organizations, etc), all have the same boss, they’re all really just tentacles of one giant vampire squid.

One dollar spent on a ‘FEDERAL’ level cost 10 times more than if that same job was done on a ‘STATE’ level, logic would point to keeping federal government no bigger than our constitutional mandate.

Now Imagine, in addition, what those ‘WORLD’ dollars are also costing working citizens. Wiki the UN and see how behemothic it now is and growing and your taxed to fund it. Citizens have no idea what the UN is costing them … and that they are being slowly enslaved.

US citizens (working and paying taxes) fund 22% of the entire UN world budget & our ‘federal’ regulatory is also back door funding the UN. We have been funding the United Nations University Institute for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP) since 1972. How’s that sustainability & peace working out? How many of their ‘professors’ & administrators are now comfortably retired on obscenely fat tax funded pensions? The UN includes the ‘World Tourist Agency’ & we’re funding it.

    •.

When our own US citizens were furloughed, why wasn’t the massive 22%++ of US tax funding of the UN and it’s countless agencies, organizations and commissions withheld or even mentioned by MSM?

Yet not a word about this nor any critique regarding overall ‘federal’ or UN cost (US taxes) /justification from anyone, time to reduce federal to it’s constitutional mandate, re-coup our state’s rights, take back federal land -our state’s property from the feds), time to take back control of our own waterways and de-fund the UN, kick them out of our country, claw back pensions and restitution of it’s assets.

The UN is nothing more than a world regulatory Trojan Horse of the Skull and Bones/Black Nobility’s NWO (guess who will be their slaves?)

    •.

Lagarde’s (IMF) salary is over $800,000 + per year PLUS thousands in ‘stipends’. and she PAYS NO TAX

Who pays her? “most UN employees pay no tax”.

The UN and it’s agencies, the IMF and World Bank, produce nothing, are not subject to the laws of any country it operates in, pays no tax, generates no revenues, is confiscating your wealth through taxes and complicit federal government agencies.

The UN is ramming ‘Agenda 21′ and ‘Common Core’ down the throats of the world, the UN’s World Bank is complicit in forcing poor farmers off their own land in Africa and South America for corporate and university endowment ‘tree farm/carbon credit’ investments, is deeming sovereign resources off limits, trying to eliminate (citizen’s only) the right to bear arms, our country’s sovereignty and our individual freedoms and now trying to force a ‘world’ climate change tax and ‘world’ wealth tax on us AND under the guise of saving us from asteroids, the UN is NOW trying co-opt our US space program, it’s technology, resources and MORE OF OUR TAXES.

    •.

The UN is trying to become the world regulatory tool of the Illuminati/Black Nobility and TBTF banks. NATO to be their enforcer. MSM is their propaganda machine, public education and many universities are their youth training and ‘worker’ conditioning centers.

Notice the elimination of individual accountability? ‘NATO’ decided this or that, the ‘UN’ deemed this or that, and we must all comply regardless of our rights, freedoms and laws of OUR OWN COUNTRY. Any official that your taxes fund needs to be thrown out if they support the UN. The working tax payer needs to be mobilized against funding the UN.

    •.

The IMF and World Bank are UN agencies of now countless agencies, commissions and organizations sucking the life out of the world and individual freedoms.

The IMF is the third biggest holder in the world of gold after the USA and Germany (where did IMF get all that gold? … ask NATO). The world is going broke while the IMF is getting fantastically wealthy and more powerful and authoritarian.

10 nations that control the world’s gold – MarketWatch
Oct 20, 2012 … The International Monetary Fund is the third-largest official holder of gold, with more than 2,814 tonnes.

The IMF is not a ‘nation’, it has been deemed ‘supranational sovereignty’ (deemed by the UN, and the ‘International Court of Justice’ -another UN agency). so the UN creates an agency to deem itself and it’s other agencies supranational sovereignty over the world and makes it’s own laws, decides it needn’t pay any tax nor provide any revenues -sweet deal if your a UN employee.
A monarchy is that which calls itself a monarchy.

NATO -no individual country or person accountable.

UN -no individual country or person accountable. That’s the plan.

We have to stop giving credibility and decision making powers to unelected foreign entities that supplant our own country’s laws and sovereignty.

The UN and NATO are ultimately controlled by a few dynastic families and TBTF banksters.

The UN & NATO (aided by our own federal government) are marginalizing our constitution, Bill of Rights and taking control of sovereign resources; that’s their plan. Our ignorant elected local officials are allowing it.

    UNESCO -another UN agency:

Hey, it could be worse, imagine if you were a twenty something US citizen? These folks are screwed.

Forced to buy Obamacare on one side, non-dischargeable student loan debt prison on the other and illegal alien invasion up your a**.

So students are learning about sex toys, deviation, global warming lies, Saul Alinsky and Muslim tolerance?

No time for personal finance or the Federalist Papers? Of course not, the globalists forbid such information, it would expose the whole thing and that would lead to student riots.

At what point will the students get it? Student loan debt, Obamacare and illegal aliens deluge for a better life (not yours, but you still must pay for it).

What Obama and RINOs are doing to our youth is an outrage

The subversion of ‘students’ for the continuity of university professor’s and administrator’s obscene salaries, opulent 6 figure pensions and benefits. Now forcing them to fund Obamacare that really funds exempt congressional healthcare, exempt unions, exempt illegal invaders and their other benefits and empowers the IRS, DHS, HHS and the federal government’s growing central control.

And what’s left of jobs are being handed to illegal invaders, but you will be taxed to fund their benefits.

It’s interesting how American youth can organize, rally, get national MSM coverage overnight over something like the KONY scam but not a peep over their own devastating financial subversion and forced serfdom.

Every young American citizen should drop Zuckerberg’s Facebook, they are getting hurt the most by his spending millions to push corporate lobbied ‘immigration.

Here’s why corporations are lobbying for ‘illegal invasion’,

companies won’t have to pay for Obamacare if they hire illegal invaders:

Google: Obamacare Loophole Provides Incentive For Employers To Hire Illegal Aliens Over US Citizens

Now you know why ZuckerFacebook is spending millions pushing this.

To get ‘you’ fired and an illegal invader hired.

The biggest tragedy of all is what the Obama administration and RINOs are doing to our American youth.

Instead of giving our next generation of US citizens every advantage, aide and encouragement they are starting off worst than broke (hopelessly wracked with debt), dumbed down education, job opportunities are slashed, even any entrepreneurial aspirations are smothered at the very start from government over regulation and taxes. And let’s not forget the millions of illegal invaders taking what’s left of jobs and diverting tax money for their benefits.

    never mind the posters
read “the black book of communism”
read – anything by Richard Pipes on the Russian Revolution.
read – anything about Venona and the Secret Soviet Archives.
and that does not even get to China or VietNam or africa.

Colleges are run by communists, only fools do not know that.

Truth has no place at our universities and colleges…

I’m offended, too, that they left out the National Socialists of Germany and Italy under Hitler and Mussolini.

  • George W Smith

..Would they had forbid the poster if it was the number of deaths caused by the Nazis? I DOUBT it. More Cultural Marxism on campus. Take a stand! Protest the decision!

As millions of sick and elderly Americans lose their health insurance and their access to their doctors and medical care….and are thus killed by deprivation of care…..

I have TWO Questions for all of our ELECTED OFFICIALS and our MILITARY LEADERS:

How many American Citizens does Genius Obama get to kill with ObamaCare? —Before it becomes an act of national self-defense to take him out?—Justifiable homicide?

    1?
    10?
    100?
    1,000?
    10,000?
    100,000?
    1,000,000?
    10,000,000?

Didn’t you take an oath to defend the citizens of this USA?

The facts about communism…just way too upsetting.
