High school students took art class through Reedley College
A California school district recently promised to provide parents with more information on dual enrollment college courses after a summer art class showed students as young as 14 a display that included a bloody abortion and sexually explicit language.
The San Joaquin Valley Sun reported this week about the uproar from parents at Sanger High School after discovering what the Reedley College art class exposed their students to.
The school district has a dual enrollment program with the college where high school students may take courses for free for college credit.
Responding to the complaints, Superintendent Dennis Wiechmann said the school district will work to make sure that parents are better informed of course content in the future, including “mature subject matter,” according to the report.
“While the curriculum for these courses is established by Reedley College and is not modified for high school students, we believe parents should have the information necessary to make an informed decision regarding their student’s participation,” Wiechmann said.
The students who took the “Art 2 Introduction to Visual Culture” class at the college were between the ages of 14 and 18, the report states:
The Art 2 class included content from Wo/Manhouse 2022, featuring the rooms showcased in the New Mexico exhibition and some performances from the exhibit.
One of the rooms shows “At Home D.I.Y. Abortion,” showing a woman with a coathanger who is bleeding on a bench and the floor. …
A bathroom installation, titled “Trans Bathroom,” showcases compression underwear meant to flatten breasts and a sign that says “testosterone injection sites.”
The house also featured signs with explicit language such as “rub my clit in a circular motion,” “try edging” and “find the G spot.”
Course material also showed a performance from Wo/Manhouse 2022, which included two men wearing strap-on genitalia.
This is not the lone example of underage students being exposed to sexually explicit or pro-abortion content on college campuses in the name of education.
As The College Fix reported in March, several public college campuses have hosted “abortion doula” trainings advertised for students as young as 14. Abortion doulas are people who offer non-medical support before, during, and after abortion procedures.
