A Democratic donor and father of a James Madison University football player yelled “go back to Haiti” at black Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears.

The donor, Scott Pogorelc, made the comments during a recent JMU football game. Earle-Sears, the current lieutenant governor, attended the game.

In the video, a woman leans over to Pogorelc (pictured) and points out someone was filming him.

He then yelled “traitor” at Earle-Sears, a Marine veteran who was born in Jamaica.

The Democratic donor’s son is James Pogorelc, although he will never see him play a home game again, since JMU banned the Democrat from future athletic events.

Pogorelc also reportedly lost his job with Zeta Associates, a Lockheed Martin company. “Zeta Associates investigated the matter and the individual is no longer employed,” a company official told Fox News.

With the free time from being unemployed, he filed a police report accusing other people of harassment over the incident. Fairfax County Police said it would not be pursuing any charges, Fox News reported.

In contrast, Earle-Sears responded with class to the racially charged comments of Scott Pogorelc. “I thought Democrats were supposed to love everyone — and just to be clear, I’m Jamaican,” she told Fox News. “But I have nowhere to go back to because America is my home. Every day I thank God I get to call this country home.”

Pogorelc’s comments may be one of the few times in recent memory that racial slurs at a college sporting event actually happened and were not proven to be fake.

The College Fix has regularly reported on, and sometimes uncovered, racial slur hoaxes. For example, The Fix found out that there is no proof a Purdue University basketball player’s family was subjected to racial slurs at a University of Illinois basketball game.

Instead, U of I officials said there was “general obnoxiousness” from fans and quietly closed the investigation it opened without telling anyone.

Hoaxes have also occurred at Pennsylvania State University, Illinois State University, and perhaps most famously, Brigham Young University. There, a Duke University volleyball player named Rachel Richardson claimed she was called the n-word repeatedly.

However, an exhaustive university investigation, as well as independent reporting by students on the ground, confirmed this had absolutely no merit. BYU even had to apologize to an individual with special needs whom it banned from future sporting events.

Racism has no place in our society and it is a good thing people like Scott Pogorelc suffered consequences for his abusive comments toward Lieutenant Governor Earle-Sears.
