Dumbest Campus Moments of the Week – 5/16/14

What do you get when you cross an ego-driven turncoat with a foul-mouthed liberal, and mix in a heaping dose of white guilt?

You get the dumbest campus moments of the week, that’s what.

3.) Harvard University Freshman to be Forced to Undergo “Check Your Privilege” Training

Ever since The College Fix published Princeton student Tal Fortgang’s essay on White Male Privilege, America can’t stop talking about who needs to #checkyourprivilege. That’s why it was no surprised to see that the white guilt-ridden administrators of Harvard University wanted to step up the push for privilege checking by making it mandatory for incoming Harvard students to undergo indoctrination…I mean, “training” on the subject of their own privilege.

Harvard’s “power and privilege training” is expected to cover “components of race, gender, socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, ability, religion, international status, and power differentials for every incoming HKS student starting August 2014,” according to a report. It seems campus liberals will never stop in their battle to force all people to define themselves and their accomplishments in terms of their skin color.

If you believe we humans ought to define ourselves according to the content of our character, not the color of our skin, Harvard wants to teach you otherwise. It’s as sad as it is ludicrous. As a friend of mine humorously put it earlier this week, “I checked my privilege in the mirror this morning. And it was looking fantastic!”

2.) Leftist Suggests President of Ayn Rand Institute Should be Sodomized

Mmmm. Tolerance and good taste–too hallmarks of radical liberalism today.

NOT.

Take the example of the hideous behavior of liberal students during Q&A, when Yaron Brook, the president of the libertarian Ayn Rand Institute, spoke at Suffolk University. First, one student takes the microphone and begins to suggest in the most vulgar and graphic language, that Brook ought to be sodomized. Even taking time to speculate about whether lubricant ought to be used during the act. And if that weren’t offensive enough already, the next student takes to the mic and begins her question by calling Brook a “real, live, fascist NAZI.”

Hard to believe what I’m describing really took place in one of our esteemed halls of higher learning? Take a look for yourself and watch a video of the aforementioned confrontation.

1.) German University to Award Edward Snowden Honorary Doctorate

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden went from a nobody to a hero of both anti-Americans and anti-Statists. Whether you think his actions were commendable or whether you think he’s a traitor to his country and a schmuck will vary depending on whether or not you enjoy looking at Vladimir Putin’s topless selfies or not, and depending on how embarrassed you feel to know that some geek in a secret compound in Arlington might have noted your weird obsession with Putin’s pasty-white animal photo-shopped propaganda portraiture.

One thing is for sure, when the faculty at the German University of Rostock voted to give Edward Snowden an honorary doctorate, heralding him (I kid you not) as “the Columbus of the Digital Age,” they may have set a new low bar for intellectual achievement–and historical metaphor.
