‘The Queer Bible,’ ‘Feminism Without Women’ and ‘Music and Socialism’ among classes flagged in report
Hundreds of college courses around the country indoctrinate students with leftist ideology, according to a report recently published by Young America’s Foundation.
YAF’s 29th annual “Comedy and Tragedy Report” provides descriptions of more than 250 courses offered at over 50 universities nationwide “to document the intellectual bias and shameless indoctrination taking place through slanted curriculum at America’s so-called prestigious institutions of higher education.”
Some of the courses in the 53-page report include “Queer Nightlife” and “Music and Socialism” at Brown University, “Race, Climate Change, and Environmental Justice” at Columbia University, “Dangerous Intersections: Intersectionality Beyond Boundaries” at Dartmouth College, and “Queer Nation: LGBTQ Protest, Politics, and Policy in the United States” at Harvard University.
The description of the “Queer Nightlife” course states students will “explore the spaces, the dancing, the outfits, the laws and legal gray areas, the drag, the cruising, and the rumbling bass, textures, and frequencies of queer nightlife.”
Other listed courses include “The Queer Bible” at Swarthmore College, “Feminism Without Women” at Yale University, and “Sex Wars” at the University of Pennsylvania.
YAF spokesman Nick Baker said the list for 2024-25 shows how universities have once again “prioritized indoctrination over education.”
“For the past 29 years, Young America’s Foundation has released the annual Comedy & Tragedy report to highlight the complete erosion of intellectual diversity and seriousness in American higher education,” Baker told The College Fix via email.
The report aims to “illustrate the extent to which the values of leftism—particularly those focused on intersectionality, identity politics, and divisiveness—have infiltrated academia,” he said.
He argued the report reveals that many university courses “undermine the fundamental purpose of education by discouraging open discussion, debate, and diversity of thought.”
“YAF is fully committed to promoting individual freedom, free enterprise, and traditional values through our unmatched campus lecture program, student conferences, and activism initiatives,” he added.
The Fix reached out to several universities in the report, including Brown University, Columbia University, Dartmouth University, and University of California, Berkeley in the last week, but none responded to requests for comment.

Amid increasing campus anti-Semitism, the YAF report observed that UC Berkeley is offering a course titled “From Perverts to Campy Queers: The Gender Troubles of Modern Jewish Culture” for the 2024-25 school year.
“Beyond the inane, identity- and intersectionality-obsessed topics, these classes advance a liberal agenda, malign conservatives and their values, and shut out ideological diversity,” YAF’s news release announcing the report reads.
YAF also criticized the listed colleges and universities for decreasing the quality of education available to students while significantly increasing tuition. The organization observed that a single 3-credit hour class at universities such as Brown and Vanderbilt has now surpassed $6,000 per semester.
“As tuition rates increase and students face ever-growing college-related debt, the value and quality of education plummets,” YAF stated.
“Rather than training the next generation of American leaders, so-called ‘premiere’ institutions churn out class after class of adults who are unable to tolerate opposing viewpoints.”
YAF also stated the list of courses “could have been far longer, but concerns for space and redundancy required inclusion of merely a sample.”
