A woman who appears to be a University of California at San Francisco employee was caught on video allegedly threatening to “hunt” down and “kill” a conservative activist who was protesting against cutting off the healthy body parts of gender-confused children.
Parents’ rights activist Beth Bourne told The College Fix she filed a police report after the Feb. 21 incident outside the California Democratic Party convention in San Francisco.
Bourne also posted a video of the confrontation Monday on X. Several commenters identified the woman as Madeline Mann, an associate director at the UCSF Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
The Post Millennial also identified the individual as Mann; it described her as a “transgender activist” who has a daughter who identifies as male.
In the video, the woman, allegedly Mann, leaned over and whispered into Bourne’s ear, “I’m gonna hunt you down and fucking kill you” before walking away.
Neither Mann nor the UCSF media relations office responded to multiple emails or a phone message from The Fix on Monday and Tuesday asking if Mann is the individual in the video and what their responses are to the allegations.
Late Monday afternoon, Mann’s bio page on the university website was no longer listed, although her name still appears on the staff list. On Tuesday, when The Fix sent a follow-up email to Mann, an automatic reply came back with the message, “This email is currently not monitored.”
The email directed inquiries to institute Director of Program Administration Molly Belinski. She did not respond to an email from The Fix asking if Mann was the individual in the video and why her bio page is no longer on the website.
Meanwhile, in an X post Tuesday, Bourne said she believes the woman who threatened her is Mann. She also questioned why UC San Francisco has not issued a statement about the matter.
“Dear @UCSF, Why haven’t you issued a statement regarding an employee of yours threatening to k*ll me?” she wrote.
The threat happened about two minutes into a back-and-forth between the two women about children who believe they are transgender, according to the video.
In a statement to police, which Bourne shared with The College Fix, she said she was standing in the public area right outside the convention as people stood in line to go through security.
“My sign was satire and read ‘More Mastectomies for Minors!’ with a photo of a teen girl with recent mastectomy cut across her chest,” Bourne said.
While protesting, Bourne said “a woman approached me closely and stood next to me with her own sign” that read, “Patients before politics.”
In the video, the woman called Bourne a “TERF,” a disparaging term used to describe feminists who disagree with the transgender ideology.
Bourne proceeded to ask her a series of questions about young women and girls who may be confused about their gender, including when the woman thinks a girl is mature enough to decide to “have top surgery.”
When the woman accused Bourne of “hatred,” she responded, “You think it’s hatred to tell girls that they can be healthy and whole.”
At one point, the woman told Bourne she has a transgender child. After Bourne continued to ask questions, the woman tried to end the conversation, replying, “We’re done.”
Bourne continued to talk to the woman, saying at one point, “It’s not hatred to tell a child that they can grow up to be healthy and whole.” Bourne then described the amount of money that surgeons make to cut off healthy breasts of young girls and construct a “fake penis.” Then, she asked the woman if she would allow her child to undergo such a surgery, according to the video.
That is when the woman threatened her, Bourne told police. She said the woman’s body language was “hostile,” “touching my shoulder and putting her hand to my ear before uttering death threats in a confrontational manner.”
“The verbal threat caused me significant fear for my safety, leading me to file a police report with the San Francisco Police Department,” she said, noting that people online identified the woman as Mann, a UCSF employee. “I believe this is likely the person in my videos.”
When contacted to ask about a possible investigation, the San Francisco Police Department’s media relations office referred The Fix to its public records request portal.
Bourne frequently protests against transgender surgeries for minors. She describes herself as a “Mom questioning gender ideology in [California] schools.”
According to The Post Millennial, Mann was at the convention to participate in “a Rainbow Families Action event that organized a trans rights march.” She has a daughter who identifies as male and “transition[ed] at approximately age 15,” the report states.
