Michigan State University has given more than $400,000 in membership fees to a “left-wing news outlet” called The Conversation, according to a new report.

The Michigan Enjoyer wrote a follow-up piece to The College Fix‘s investigation into public universities subsidizing The Conversation, which regularly pushes anti-Trump articles and rarely, if ever, publishes anything positive about the president.

The Enjoyer article highlights one example of bias from a Michigan State professor. Because the university is a “founding member,” its professors are prioritized for further distribution among partners of The Conversation, which include the Washington Post and the Associated Press.

Professor Cristina Bodea criticized President Donald Trump for attempting to fire Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook, saying it threatened “central bank independence.”

However, the key allegation against Cook, mentioned only once in The Conversation, is that she committed mortgage fraud.

The Enjoyer reports:

Only once do the professors mention the allegation central to Cook’s firing: She signed two mortgages, two weeks apart, both saying she would live in the mortgaged property for a year.

This could not have been true. But Cook said it anyway, and Bill Pulte, the head of the Federal Housing Administration, has produced the receipts showing it.

The Enjoyer said MSU did not respond to requests for comment.
