The Princeton Review’s 25th annual college rankings are out, with categories ranging from academics and demographics, to social life and politics.
Of particular interest to The College Fix are the schools with the best student newspapers (in the extracurriculars category). This year’s top ten are:
Columbia
Virginia
Brown
Ithaca
Syracuse
Penn State
Fordham
Cornell
Hillsdale
U. Wisconsin-Madison
Perhaps most notable is the inclusion of Hillsdale College on the list. It is by far the smallest school of the ten (1,490 enrolled) and is completely self-sustaining — it doesn’t accept any federal funding.
All rankings are based on student surveys.
