Run, Mitch, Run

A new group, led by Fix Contributor Kate Havard, a student at St. John’s college, seeks to channel the dissatisfaction some Republican voters are expressing with the current slate of presidential candidates into a movement to draft Indiana governor Mitch Daniels.

The group has launched a new Facebook page, hoping to muster support for this last-minute effort:

None of the candidates currently running has received more than a total of 300,000 votes in the three contests so far. 7 out of 10 Republicans want more choices in the GOP primary. We all know that Mitch Daniels, the straight-talking, deficit-shrinking best Governor in America, has got what it takes to beat Barack Obama in 2012. On January 24, 2012, Mitch will deliver the GOP response to the President’s State of the Union address…

Let Mitch know you want him to run– and to win, in 2012!

There’s an accompanying website, featuring a catchy URL: (www.runmitchrun.com) and a nice photo of Daniels.

Dig that ballcap-wearin’ governor!
