A diversity, equity, and inclusion program continues to be offered at the University of Missouri despite campus leaders saying they would voluntarily shut down DEI programs amid pressure from Republican lawmakers.

An undercover video from the activism group Accuracy in Media shows two staffers talking about a program called “The Bridge” that facilitates DEI programming.

“We have something called The Bridge, and they’re really focused on DEI, like inclusion and stuff like that,” one staffer said. “We run a lot of events and programming, like open discussions and forums.”

Another employer in the video said: “All of our events and things we do are focused on expanding multicultural perspectives on, like, social justice issues. … We’re still trying to do the work. It’s just … everything’s going to be done under, you know, different wording.”

The Bridge’s webpage has been taken down, with a “page not found” notice showing in its place. A Google cache description states it included a “multicultural lounge and brave space designed to expand perspectives on social issues through learning, training, and service.”

The nearly four-minute, edited video has a time-date stamp of Dec. 12, 2025, but was released this week as part of a parade of undercover videos focused on DEI activities on campuses in Missouri released by AIM over the last two months.

In July 2024, the University of Missouri announced it was closing its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office. In 2023, the University of Missouri System also stopped requiring applicants to pledge allegiance to DEI by banning mandatory diversity statements. Universities took steps to dismantle DEI in response to GOP pressure from state lawmakers and the Trump administration.

Responding to the latest video, Mizzou posted on X on Oct. 13: “The video was taken last year as Mizzou was eliminating its DEI programs. Mizzou voluntarily eliminated all DEI programs and DEI requirements in the curriculum. Mizzou has complied with all federal directives to end DEI research projects.”

“We do not discriminate or provide preferential treatment on the basis of race, color, or national origin, etc. We will continue to inform our faculty, staff and students to be aware of our policies and to be in compliance with state and federal laws and guidelines regarding DEI,” the statement continued.

Mizzou added that the two staffers seen in the video “will be investigated and appropriate actions will be taken if they are found to have violated our policies or federal and state laws.”

As The College Fix reported earlier this month, a Mizzou professor was also secretly recorded admitting that diversity, equity, and inclusion activities persist at the university, and that anti-DEI directives “haven’t hit the curriculum.”

After the video was released, the scholar stated: “I apologize for my mistake. The video was taken last year as Mizzou was eliminating its DEI programs. I am fully aware that Mizzou no longer has DEI programs and does not conduct DEI research.”

And at the end of August, The College Fix reported on a University of Missouri Kansas City employee who was suspended after the individual was caught in an undercover video saying the school continues to practice diversity, equity, and inclusion under a different name.

An undercover video posted in late September from AIM also showed an employee saying there was a DEI name change to shield the school from scrutiny.
