U. Michigan student Temulun Togochog 'in action' Nov. 1; My moms caregiver / X

OPINION: As the Left becomes more and more unhinged, the Right had better grasp the concept of self-defense

An disturbed University of Michigan student went on a profanity-laced rant this past week against members of a conservative organization who had set up a table on campus.

The student, identified as Temulun Togochog, ended up physically assaulting Jewish student activist Liz Benichou and threatening to kill her. Togochog continued her rants as she resisted arrest.

According to Y Net News, Benichou said Togochog told her “she would be willing to return to a psychiatric hospital if it meant she could carry out the threat.”

Togochog … in a psych hospital? What a surprise.

Togochog initally was released pending the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office decision whether to formal charges — which it did (thankfully) on two counts of assault and battery, and one count of assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer.

(Michigan is a somewhat purple state, after all. A blue state’s action might have been quite different, and not in a good way.)

Cam Higby, who had posted video of the incident, noted Monday evening that U. Michigan wanted his video taken down “due to negative blowback” against Togochog. This blowback allegedly included death threats — “You know, after she threatened to kill Liz,” Higby said.

Allegedly educated people like the following (his X bio says he has a bachelor’s and graduate degree but doesn’t know “woman” from “women”) defended Togochog (albeit qualifyingly) because “evil Zionist” Benichou’s query about women wearing head scarves in Iran somehow translates into a justification of Palestinian “genocide.”

The cheap qualifier that Togochog “should have remained calm and obeyed the law” means zero when you have to add she was “breathing fire” like a “warrior” because the “pure evil asshole” Zionist did “insult her intelligence brutally.” 🙄

Also recently, a transgender University of Utah student attacked a member of that school’s College Republicans saying “I think Republicans should be shot in the streets.”

On Election Day, some liberal senior citizen actually smacked a TPUSA member who was volunteering at a polling place:

Last month, leftist University of Oregon students screamed profanities at an Alex Stein event with one holding a placard reading “F*** him right in the neck hole,” a reference to Charlie Kirk’s assassination last year.

American Made / X

What is the breaking point, so to speak, for conservatives and classical liberals? Just look at the guy above who also took abuse from Ms. Togochog. Why is he just sitting there and taking it?

Of course, people like him and Benichou are between a rock and hard place; if they (literally) fight back, it’s a good bet the university will scrutinize them more, and virtually a sure bet the mainstream media will make them out to be the bad guys.

Nevertheless these folks won’t sit still and take it in the keister forever. If I was that guy at the table — and especially Benichou — I’m initiating a counter-offensive immediately. Simple self-defense.

Speaking of self-defense, if they haven’t already done so, following Tuesday’s results normal people, if they already haven’t done so, really ought to consider taking advantage of their Second Amendment rights. Look at the reaction of Jennifer Welch (who’s often appeared on CNN) and her co-host regarding a person’s comment about “digging up Charlie Kirk and doing it again”:

Kirk was assassinated in September of 2025.

My views on all this likely stems from living approximately half my years before the internet. The popularity of this great invention (especially social media) unfortunately has made many believe they’re tougher than they actually are … and has manifested in our culture a stronger belief that one can do something with little-to-no consequences.
