1,170 pages of presidential records found at Penn Biden Center

National Archives told conservative legal group it was reviewing the documents

The National Archives found 1,170 pages of presidential records at the University of Pennsylvania’s think tank it runs with President Joe Biden.

The Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement dates back to when the Ivy League university gave him the title of “professor” and required him to do minimal work after he left the White House in 2017 after serving as President Barack Obama’s vice president.

Originally, 10 documents were found at the center, as reported in January. The documents were first found on Nov. 2, but the news only came out after the 2022 midterm elections.

“The National Archives admits to America First Legal that 1,170 pages of Biden’s Vice Presidential records were found at the Penn Biden Center,” America First Legal, a conservative group, announced yesterday. “They also admit they ‘lack custody’ of Biden’s other misplaced records found in Delaware.”

The group sought more information on the records Biden retained at the think tank as well as other locations where classified documents have been found, including an attorney’s office in Boston and Biden residences in Delaware.

The center has drawn criticism for possible ties for foreign donors.

“The Penn Biden Center is a dark-money, revolving-door nightmare where foreign competitors like China donated millions of dollars to the university so that they could have access to future high-ranking officials,” Tom Anderson, with the National Legal and Policy Center told the New York Post in January.

NLPC counsel Paul Kamenar previously said a U.S. House Select Committee on China will “be looking at…the Chinese connection to universities, not just the University of Pennsylvania but other ones like Harvard and Yale, where there’s a lot of money coming in and where there’s a question of Chinese influence.”

“The Penn Biden Center has never solicited or received any gifts from any Chinese or other foreign entity,” a university spokesperson previously told the media. “In fact, the University has never solicited any gifts for the Center.”
