Comedian slams college students who use cell phones during his performance

‘Just grow up’

A comedian recently exploded at several college students during a campus stand-up routine, bashing them for filming his performance instead of watching him directly.

Pete Davidson, known for his performances on Saturday Night Live, went on an extended, expletive-laden rant against students using their phones at his stand-up routine at the University of Central Florida. Video of the event shows Davidson excoriating students for “film[ing] everything” while “not enjoy[ing] the show for fuckin’ an hour.”

“Whenever somebody else comes to your fuckin’ town to perform, and he’s exhausted, and flies all the way to the middle of fuckin’ nowhere to do jokes for you privileged little assholes…don’t fuckin’ ruin the show for people who actually want to be here,” Davidson says to the students.

After the students begin applauding, Davidson cuts them off: “No, don’t clap! Half of you did it!” he said, later telling students: “Just grow up.”

College officials responded negatively to Davidson’s critique of the crowd.

“Mr. Davidson’s abusive language, particularly his use of a derogatory slur, is contrary to the University of Central Florida’s values of inclusion and respect for all,” the school told Buzzfeed. (Davidson had at one point used the word “retarded” to describe the students.)

“It’s disappointing that his rant spoiled an event that was meant to welcome students back for the fall semester,” the school added.
